LAP, TRACK, GIVE BACK, & WIN!

Bike-A-Thon is a collaborative event that directly supports Sky Tavern and High Fives Foundation, two Reno/Tahoe nonprofits dedicated to breaking barriers to outdoor recreation, regardless of limitations.

Starting at 9:00 AM, Bike-A-Thon includes a trail-lapping challenge, food trucks from Daddy's Tacos, Bali Express, and Kona Ice, cold beverages from the Brewer's Cabinet, group rides, a cornering skills tune-up on High Five, a jump skills workshop, and awards, raffles, and a grand prize Specialized Status 140!

How do I join?

Sign up in advance. Participants will complete as many laps as possible between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM, tracked by Strava. Prizes will be awarded to the top riders, and each lap completed will earn a raffle entry. Additional raffle opportunities will be held at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

What skill levels are welcome?

ALL skill levels and abilities are invited! Our Riders in the Sky coaches will lead several beginner and intermediate group rides, including a fundamentals workshop (9 am), cornering tips group ride on High Five (10:30 am), and an Intro to Air session on our Progression Zone (12 pm). Our trailbuilder extraordinaire, Steve Wentz, will lead a jump skills tune-up workshop on Rick Sutherland at noon.

How do I support?

Register and pledge now, and purchase raffle tickets at the event. Bike-A-Thon is one of the most fun ways to support community-funded trails, outdoor initiatives, and community. It’s never been more important than now to support our public recreation facilities and nonprofits who do the work to ensure more butts get on bikes.

Saturday, July 26, Sky Tavern X High Fives Foundation Bike-A-Thon-Laps on laps. Challenge yourself or your team to as many laps as possible and raise funds for two local nonprofits that remove barriers to outdoor access.

Thursday, August 7, Hot August Laps Presented by Die Cut Stickers, Gear Hut, and 805- Laps, Yaps, and Snacks! Join us for a throwback summer evening celebration to the classic and retro days featuring a vendor row, DJ Girl George, a classic bike show, the Die Cut diner, and more. Costumes and classic bikes encouraged.

Saturday, August 9, Why We Sky Anti Gala- Outdoor recreation is NOT a dream. Our first annual Anti Gala fundraiser ditches tuxes and ballrooms for mountain views and fun activities to support our mission of Outdoor Recreation for All. Tickets are on sale now, and must be purchased in advance.

Friday, August 15, Grassroots Reno Golden Hour Race- Try your luck on best of three runs on the Rick Sutherland/Shark Bait/Rollin' Coal race course.

Sunday, September 7, One for All Enduro Race- This all-inclusive enduro race has a category for everyone. Fun is the name of the game, but make the podium and reap the rewards from a stash of incredible prizes.

Saturday, October 11, Party in the Sky- Our festive fall Party wraps up the bike season with activities for the entire family.
