The Impact of Families Outside is Beyond Measure

Family is the heart of everything we do at Sky Tavern. Whether it's second or fifth-generation skiers passing down their love of the mountain or new friendships blossoming into lifelong bonds, our community is built on connection. In this final chapter of our Why We Sky series, we celebrate the many forms of family— our members, staff, and volunteers who dedicate their weekends not only to skiing, but to each other.

From our volunteer international instructors who hail from across the globe to coworkers and volunteer ski patrollers who treat each other like kin, this IS family.

We all share the same goal: To give our families the best. To stay active, grow together, and build responsibility. And most importantly, to make outdoor recreation accessible to all.

When we ski, we do it for something bigger. We do it for family.

SUMMER EVENTS CALENDAR!

MAYDAY FESTIVAL, Saturday, May 31- Celebrate a season in bloom at our opening day of the bike park with activities for the family, including food trucks, group rides, bike demos, shuttles, youth pump track workshops, zip line, vendors, live music, and more!

Summer Solstice Party, Friday, June 20- Nothing says summer more than celebrating the longest day of the year at 8,000 feet with food trucks, bike shuttles, and good times all evening.

Women's Camp Weekend, Saturday, June 21- Sunday, June 22- A weekend of women's mountain bike clinics, camaraderie, camping, and community. Registration opens soon (limited spots). 

Sky Tavern at the Reno Aces, Sunday, June 29- Cheer on the hometown Aces and raise funds for Sky Tavern programs. Get your tickets now!

Sky Tavern X High Fives Foundation Bike-A-Thon, Saturday, July 26- Laps on laps. Challenge yourself or your team to as many laps as possible and raise funds for two local nonprofits that remove barriers to outdoor access.

Hot August Laps, Thursday, August 7- A throwback summer evening celebration to the classic and retro days featuring a vendor row, classic car and bike show, food vendors, and more. Costumes encouraged.

One for All Enduro Race, Sunday, September 11- This all-inclusive enduro race has a category for everyone. Fun is the name of the game, but make the podium and reap the rewards from a stash of incredible prizes.

Party in the Sky, Saturday, October 11- Our festive fall Party wraps up the bike season with activities for the entire family.

MORE EVENTS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!

Our Riders in the Sky Mountain Bike Skills Clinics begin in June with classes for Youth (ages 8+), Women-Inclusive, and Open. See the schedule. Registration opens soon. Private lessons are available by request.
