Welcome to the Weekend Update! It's hard to believe February is coming to a close, and March is rolling in like, well, a lamb. But keep doing your snow dances. March is historically one of our snowiest months!

Week 6 will see sun and warm temps Saturday, but a chance for light precipitation returns for Sunday.

Make sure to shop our new swag in the lodge. See below for details.

Lastly, please note that dogs are not permitted in the parking lot, at the lodge, or in the snow.

Leashes on children skiing or snowboarding are also not permitted.

Climb Your Mountain

Progress is Never a Straight Line

You never know what you’ll find at the top of the mountain. Episode II of our Why We Sky series presented by Reno Orthopedic Center (roc) explores the drive of our community to overcome personal mountains through the outdoors. First-time skiers, seasoned instructors, and staff are all learning to become someone who CAN. 

Although Sky Tavern has taught snowsports for over 75 years, the organization continues to climb its mountain, embarking on a snowmaking installation project six years ago. The snow guns ferociously came to life in February, adding a crucial layer to ensure programs and operations are sustainable for future generations. 

CLINICS ARE REQUIRED

FOR VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTORS

Volunteer instructors must attend four clinics throughout the season. Parents may bring their student children along with them to the clinic. The child must be able to participate in the level you are participating in whether it be green, blue, or black. 

We're always looking for more Certified Instructors. Speak to the instructors this weekend if you're interested in growing your skills!

RACE TEAM IN ACTION

You've probably noticed our race team hard at work all season, practicing on the race hill. When they're not at Sky Tavern, they've been posting some respectable results this season in the regional races!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers are needed ALL DAY.

Each member is required to volunteer

at least 2 hours per day

Our Snowbird seasonal coffee blend from Coffeebar is in limited supply. Pick up a bag (or two) this weekend. A portion of every 12oz bag sold is donated to Sky Tavern!
