This is going to be a very fast note so parents can do some planning for the coming weekend. It looks like we have found enough help to open this weekend for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Friday 3/30, there will be no buses as of right now, and most likely just be open skiing. We will need help!!!!!!!! Kids will still want to eat and we do not know how many lifts we can run because of the lift operators having real jobs during the week. Stand by for more as we can figure it out.
Saturday 3/31 Regular day buses and all.
Sunday April 1st. Easter and April Fools Day. Buses, yes. Lessons, maybe. Games, yes. To be honest Sky Tavern has always closed on Easter because of family and personal beliefs. We are going to run because Mother Nature did not play well with kids this winter. We will be low on help and will cut the day short to 2 PM so dinners can be prepared. We may not be able to run all the lifts. We just do not know but it looks like we might have seen the last of the storms, so we need to use what we have.
More details later. I am taking kids to the Nevada State Museum while we are closed on Tuesday. You should pity them if you have ever heard me talk about Nevada history!
thanks,
Bill

Marce Herz was the person we all credit with creating the Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program in 1948. The Nevada Youth Ski Education Foundation and Sky Tavern are on a mission to have one of the new Washoe County schools named after her.
Take a look at the video to learn why she deserves this honor.
