Week 5. March 16/17. Time to GO. With good weather forecasted, no more lift stops. Last Sunday's wind closures did prove there are a bunch of tough skiers/snowboarders here. Many are not 4 feet tall.

This Sunday is St. Paddy's Day. Sport that green! Find beads at the front desk if you forget or simply think beads are fun, kids.

The Schedule as of today. Please watch your emails for the latest news. Change is the only constant around here.

March 16/17 Week 5, Back to lessons to get punched.

Saturday.March 16

UNR Ski Team will be at Sky practicing with our teams and visiting with all the kids.

Sunday, March 17

Freestyle Team Contest at Bill’s Bumps on Rocco. Come watch, help, or even be a judge!

Sky Tavern alumni and Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist David Wise will be here. Come meet the man that was a kid here just like you! He is fun! He has gone far!

Week 6, March 23/24 No extra plans yet. Something will come up! Got any ideas?

March 25- April 5th

WCSD Spring Break Historically Sky Tavern loses families during these weeks since Grandma gets visited followed by a stop to see Mickey Mouse. But Sky Tavern has a few days to make up and kids need something to do. Right now this next idea is a maybe, not finalized yet.

Wednesday, March 27- Friday, March 29th, in planning.

Spring Skiing. We are open so kids have something to do. No buses, no lessons. Any 2024 Sky Tavern pass gets you in for free including High School Racing passes. More info later including start times.

Saturday, March 30th 

The rescheduled Bring a Friend Day. As we were blown out by the wind and snow on Presidents Day, time to give it another try. Bring your friends and family to come ski. No lessons, so we need some help from instructors running the place. As long as we can have drivers, the buses will run. Stay tuned.

Easter Sunday, March 31st. Closed.

April 6/7 Week 7. Back to classes!

This is also the weekend our level 1 PSIA/AASI candidates get tested. Nerves will be working overtime but they got this!

April 13/14

TBA. Most likely the last weekend of the 2024 season. Game days. Tears to follow.

Janelle is a Sky Tavern Ski Patrol Candidate and a student at the University of Nevada, Reno, completing her Public Health Internship at Sky Tavern. She has a short survey for the parents of Sky Tavern. It matters to her education so please take a few minutes and answer some easy questions. It does not collect names.

One last thing. Please help out. There have been some holes in helping this year. Lifts in the afternoon don't need many but a few to watch kids. Late in the afternoon, Mike and Brenda always need help cleaning the kitchen and the lunch rooms need to basically be rebuilt after 1000 kids eat. Ever been to a middle school cafeteria? That is us too. The only way this thing doesn't become like all the other ski areas is by all of us pulling together. If you are doing your part, thank you. You rock. If you need something to do see the front desk.
