At the end of Week 1 Sunday I was trying to keep Moms from walking over the creeks for fear of losing one knee deep into very cold water. Three to four feet of snow over last week helped put an end to that worry with more coming this week. Week 2 was about as good skiing as you can get. Lots of new snow and a little winter weather to keep it interesting, the way it is meant to be. Hopefully the buses will not get buried in their yards again. Watch for more updates during the week as we get ready to ski and snowboard on Week 3. If you have pictures you would not mind sharing of any week, please send them in to info@skytavern.com.

Now on to the cool stuff, Sky Tavern Racers kicked ..... at Tahoe League Championships.
The Racers
Tahoe League Season Championships were held at Diamond Peak on Sunday. Our team did great with only having three days of gate training all season long. They will be back at Sky Tavern this coming weekend starting work towards the 2019 season. If you don't follow the kids racing, the classes are by age group, U standing for Under. U14 is the largest and most competitive class, where all the serious rivalries happen.

Congratulation to all the Racers that started together as a team way back in October but just could not find hill space to set gates this season. Imagine if they had! Snow making, just saying.
LOST & FOUND
Really? Lots of sets of skis, two snowboards and enough clothing and gloves to fill the closet. You remember all those ski poles that got "taken"? Guess where they are now? Guess which snow bank they were in? Same for green skis that didn't have a name on them. Someone else has the wrong skis from Scheels because you took ones that are not going to fit your boots. Please check, but yours are in a different Subaru now and adjusted to his boots, as that kid really wanted to find a CSI and pass to the next level. Yes you can do that in the afternoon. Candy bribes accepted.
This stuff is expensive, lets take care of it and keep track of it. I buy all the ski poles we loan out and the cupboard is almost bare. We need size 38 to 44 poles. I know you don't get any when you rent from Bobo's but I have only a few left.
Check the kids bags to see what is missing and come look. Please don't expect the moms here can search for you this week. And while you have that bag open tighten every screw on the snowboards. They fall apart faster than Greg's helicopter and the Dads in the tune room were doing double duty on something that could of been done at home watching basketball. Please spare them the carpel tunnel.
One last thing. We ran the water tank dry Sunday. Not sure how, since the lodge seems to be without any broken pipes. Our water comes from a spring and fills up the little wooden tank above Rocco. That 15,000 gallons is what the lodge uses for everything. That really big, right is the middle of a ski run, ugly water tank only feeds the fire hydrants so be careful with letting water run please.
Until later in the week,
Bill
It is going to snow some more is the word on the street.
