A very fast sad note. Still closed.
It has been a trying start to 2024. On Wednesday and Thursday, we got 6 inches of snow but lost much more than that on Monday and Tuesday, it being in the 60s. We snuck in a high school race on a way too narrow and way too thin strip of snow on Wednesday. They were skiing on shrubbery in places.
A change is coming according to the guy I believe wholeheartedly at OpenSnow. Big storms are coming Sunday through Wednesday. 24 to 31 inches at Sky Tavern. These should be the ones that take us from runs barely covered to all of them skiable. Otherwise known as OPEN.
The start of Jr Ski for all kids is still on hold for February 3rd and 4th this weekend. We are working on something for upper-level returning kids for a few hours on Saturday, maybe, just maybe but closed for beginners for sure. It all depends on how much magic our grooming crew has in their old top hats. They are the best. If it can be made safe, they are the group to do it. Another email will be sent after the conditions are looked at on Friday.
Just the hand we were dealt this season. Snow is coming.
I do not disappoint kids lightly.
