If you are new to Sky Tavern for this season, welcome. There is a lot to talk about and a bunch of fun just around the bend. When we hit October we will start talking about orientations and how you will help make this Nevada Tradition happen. You get a few more weeks before I start the sales pitch on why you want to be an instructor. It is coming, trust me. Sorry. All your new friends are here, so no worries. Think fun, think snow.
Sky Tavern is in the middle of a long, continuous round of events happening. Since the middle of August, there have been one and sometimes two events or groups doing something either at or for Sky Tavern every day. Doing the math equals seven days a week for some of us and it is showing. I'm a grump! Looking forward to a break after the Protect Our Winters Leadership Conference ends on Friday and the PSIS/AASI Board meetings over the weekend. It is time to concentrate on Jr Ski kids!
But just have to say this. We just cleaned up from other events so POW could move in including the ONE WHEEL National Championship Race for the Rail. If you didn't stop by, you missed a spectacle, and that's why there is YouTube. Watch a 14-year-old who almost took it all at the two-minute video of the finish here. It is worth the click to see these guys fly on the bike trails at Sky on electric skateboards. Saturday was the men's and Friday was the lady's finals. Take a peek.

Sky Tavern is a nonprofit 501c3 with a volunteer Board of Directors whose major roles are fiduciary, governance, and planning. Each year the Board members are elected and officers for the coming year are selected at this Annual Meeting. That is happening this Wednesday evening and public comment time is provided. Sky Tavern belongs to us all. Get involved. This is what sets us apart from all the other kid programs, you making this happen! Without you, we are just another ski hill. (I said that in a movie one time.)
