Hello everyone! Yes, it's almost here, the Best in the West Rib Cook Off at the Nugget Casino Resort! August 30 – September 4. We have been assigned Beer Booths and a Lemonade booth. The locations will be announced as we get closer to the event date.
To volunteer at the Beer Booths, you must be at least 21 years old and have an active Alcohol Awareness Card with you at all times.
- Alcohol Awareness Training classes will be held on Monday, August 7, and Monday, August 14, at the Nugget. Classes are free of charge for anyone who is working in an alcohol booth. Both classes will be held at the Nugget in the Southern Pacific Rooms/3rd floor at 6 pm. Plan on about 2 hours; no need to RSVP. If you already have your AWT card, they are valid for four years. Check your expiration date.
Sky Tavern University has created the Lemonade booth to be a real-world working experience for our teenagers. To work this booth, you must be at least 13 years, be dedicated to working the entire shift with little to no supervision. As a reward, STU will pay our teenagers $50.00 per completed shift worked.
The morning shift is from 10:00 am – 3:30 pm, and the afternoon shifts are from 3:30 pm -9:00 pm. Sorry, there is no splitting of shifts you must commit to that entire time.
This is a FUNdraiser event sponsored by the Nugget Casino that greatly benefits Sky Tavern University Training Program. Thank you for your dedication. Please sign up for as many shifts as you can to help. We will need your t-shirt size that will be provided for each shift that you work.

Please submit your request by August 17. All schedules are on a first come-first schedule. We encourage friends and family members to volunteer for this FUNdraiser. Last year we had many Teams requesting to work together, but many time slots had already been taken. Please sign up early to receive your preferred schedule.
