Are you new to Sky Tavern's Junior Ski Program?
The first New to Sky Tavern Orientation is Wednesday, November 9th at 7pm
California Building in Idlewild Park
75 Cowan Dr.
Reno, NV 89509
Sky Tavern might be a little different from other programs your kids’ have been involved with. Sky Tavern is a learn-to-ski or snowboard program, it is a training facility ski area, and it is all staffed and run by you, the parents. Just think 1930s barn raising or 70’s CO-OP. You don’t purchase Sky Tavern, you create it. All adults have a place and a task for part of the day making Sky Tavern run. Some are in the parking lot, some in the kitchen, some organizing classes, and some teaching those classes. All are part of the process for the kids.
Since we will not just toss you into any position, Sky Tavern has orientation nights to let you know how we get things done and what to expect. It is an hour or so long and it gives Sky Tavern a chance to help steer you through making this place go. These orientations are just for adults. New to skiing and riding kid’s orientation time comes later.
This gets repeated several times between the first of November and opening day on the snow, so do not worry if the first date conflicts with something like helping with the kids’ homework, but please make one of the dates. Opening day is much better when everyone is pulling together!
The first New to Sky Tavern Orientation is Wednesday, November 9th at 7pm in the California Building in Idlewild Park. If you miss that opportunity you can come on Thursday, November 17th in the building borrowed for the Ski Swap- time TBD.
