Week 8 is here. GO!

Sky Tavern might get a little winter weather. You will get a morning email if it is too much winter.

Monopalooza was Wednesday and thanks to the "Moms" that volunteered their time, it went off fantastically! Thank you!

Yes, monoskiing is a really cool throw-back thing. Just cooking down the hill on one huge ski with your knees touching. All of this group had way too much fun at Sky Tavern and are coming back to teach some kids. They even donated a few kid-sized mono-skis.

Tentative Schedule:

March 5/6 Week 8 Normal Operations. Lessons and all.

March 12/13 Week 9. Buses will run. Kids line up for lessons. There may be some goofing off in classes with some special events. It is the last day to get to that next level. Bobos is working on bringing demo skis up for one of the days.

Friday, March 17th. Closed. Most Sky Tavern families will be out of town that week for spring break.

March 18/19 Week 10. No lessons or buses but the lifts running for you to ski. By this time we lose kids to other sports so the plan is to fill the hill with your friends and families as guests. Stand by for details.

March 25-27 The Woodchuck Freestyle Contest may be making a stop for our kids to compete. Friday is an Alumni ski day and a company picnic. Saturday and Sunday are skiing with your family days again. This may be the last chance to make some turns. It will all be about snow levels by then.

We go until we run out of something. That has been the way here since parents gained control from the City. For too many years we only made it five weeks, six weeks, and once zero. My mission has always been to give families more than they bargained for during a season with the biggest fear that there won't be the next time. I best make this one count.

I understand for many of you there has not been a weekend off since Ski Swap in the middle of November. I apologize for sounding like an Oxford coxswain and striking GO-GO-GO each week. Mutiny is allowed. It is all about the weather. GO. Ski while you can. You guys are doing a lot of work but it is great stuff for the kids!

.

Here is the proof. I went skiing with Stella. She is five and my granddaughter. She knows you. She knows everyone. We went down the 4 Hill once and she scooted over to America. She knew she couldn't get on without me. Being the boss is good sometimes like for lift lines.

If you have not done the 6 Hill with a SkyKid it is hard to describe the feelings. Grandfather, petrified but proud. Granddaughter, giggling and bouncing through gaps in the trees I have never seen. Not perfect turns but perfect joy. She had the biggest smiles of accomplishment I have seen since I did the same run 25 plus years ago with her mother.

You taught mother and daughter superbly. You gave me those memories.

Thank you!
Bill

These three get to grow up together with parents that run a mountain.
Even Dad has to try to keep up with Stella.

We need to hear your 2022 Sky Tavern story. Please jot down some words, attach some pictures and send them to info@skytavern.com. We need stories to tell!
