A HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR KIDS IN WINTER.
This has been what we have been working towards.
We are excited to announce we have secured a challenge grant from the E. L. Wiegand Foundation for $1 million to install snowmaking equipment. The cost to install a snowmaking system at Sky Tavern is estimated at $2.4 million. According to the challenge agreement, Sky Tavern is tasked with raising the remaining $1.4 million by 2023.
We have already started to raise the additional funding, and we are now putting this challenge out to all of you in the hopes you will join in this challenge that will help transform this 73-year-old nonprofit ski area into a modern ski operation that can accommodate the region’s growing demand from snow kids! Disappoint them because of no snow should not be an option.
