Since we are now getting kids up on the chairlifts, a notice about a whole site just covering chairlift safety to share with your new "going to the top of the mountain " kid. Take a look please.
One other thing is that we do have bars coming for Sky Ridge. Paid for and everything. But something to know is that 72% of all chairlift accidents happen on chairs with bars and almost all are because of messing around or not paying attention. Please No Horseplay. Talk to your kids. Click the picture for a video or below for the website.
All this stuff is on the website under FAQS so I know most have seen it. Still some new families showing up on Week 4.
EVERYONE HAS A BADGE AT SKY TAVERN.
Wear your badge when at Sky Tavern, Please! It is how we know who belongs. If you bring a visitor, please go to the front desk and get a visitor pass. If you forget your badge, go to the front desk and get a temporary one. It may cost you! Everyone on the hill MUST be registered. Time to get serious about everyone having a badge. Going to be checking and asking why not.
General rules that are pretty basic and simple.
Don't be late! Classes start the line up at 8:30-8:45. It is all about you, but class will not wait!
Don't be late!!!
We are all Volunteers, please help out. There is no staff except you. Clean the mess up please. Restrooms included.( I admit to being a bit short with a Dad about this last weekend but the guys that maintain the building during the week are mostly lift operators on the weekend. Not going to stop a lift for a plugged toilet. Sorry.)
No sleds except when we give the go ahead from the director.
No snowballs
If you use the lunch trays for sleds, prepare to wash dishes. (fair warning!)
Kids go to classes every day.
Equipment stays out of the lodge.
Kids can ride the chairlifts in class 3P alone or with adults anytime.
No alcohol during program hours.
Smoking is allowed in lower parking lot and behind the lodge only, and not next to the fuel tanks. Really, that happened! Don't care if its legal. Leave the pot home.
No Parking in the upper lot without a parking pass and please be on time.
No showing up at noon to just free ski. This is a training facility. Take lessons then free ski.
Helmets on when skiing or riding.
Sky Tavern only works when the rules get followed because there is simply way too many balls in the air around here.
The last rule is get involved. We need smart, passionate people to run departments, raise the money we need to to replace a lift and to generally take care of this place for the next group. I complained so they told me to fix it. That was 20 years ago.
Don't be real surprised if you get to watch all the pre-game shows Sunday.I will be here at 4:30am if you want to come by and help make the call. Haha. 20 years, no takers.
