Week 2. Stuff starts to gel because we get into the swing on things.
Couple of housekeeping things.
We are here for the kids. Adults have to keep this place going all day long. Kids need help in the morning with classes but also in the afternoon. This is when they really become skiers and riders. They are out there pushing themselves and need some help getting up the hill and sometimes getting out of that "death wedge" going down.
There is over 500 adults members this season so there is no reason only two are cleaning the lodge at the end of the day. (Thank you by the way!) Please, there is no cleaning gnomes that show up in the middle of the night. Its just us and we just signed a lease that makes Sky Tavern ours until 2069. Ours is you, me and everyone that wants to be involved with the nonprofit.
Lifts
This starts the time kids learn to ride the chairlift. We need adults to ride with them for the first circuits. Class organizers or whoever please sit with the kids so they get use to the lift. Kids are to be level 3P to ride chairs but we may be bumping that down to 3 so they can use the backtrail and the new Rubicon Trail. Rocco is still being a pain to Marty. He is working his best to keep it going. I started the process to replace it for next season. Guess I should of mentioned that to the Board.
In the kitchen
We just installed the last piece of our new order/pay system. Orders can now be taken in the line and printed in the kitchen. This is to speed up the whole process and makes us just like the big guys now. Any other suggestions on feeding the entire hill at once, speak up please.
Gear
We still have all sizes, but it is tough to get to being in containers. If you are stuck for gear we will give it a try to get you outfitted. Snowboarders please tighten all the screws every Friday night.Snowboards fall apart. Wax in the tune room. Adults get gear and take lessons so you can maybe keep up with your kid. I can't. Never could.
Check in
Kids go through the blow up building. That thing was Bode Miller's start house at World Cup Races. Now it is our scanner station.
Adults check in at the front desk. This week starts the" if you work you get a sticker". If you don't have a sticker karma happens and I have to give that talk in the front room again.
