Sky Tavern doing its best Squaw Valley imitation, being totally tracked out after a powder weekend!
Once again THANK YOU to anyone that came up and helped shovel out Saturday. It was amazing and frankly the only way Sky was going to get open.
A reminder to get those bus tickets. Last Saturday's are good for this Saturday. You have until Wednesday night. It looks like we might get a few inches of snow this weekend but no monster storms looming. Week 4 and 3 coming up. Click the bus picture for tickets.
Lost and Found was pretty small, BUT skis and snowboards are going home in the wrong SUV at a fairly rapid rate. When you go home at 1:30 and load the wrong skis into your RAV 4, Thomas doesn't get to ski any more because he can't find his skis. You are at home, where you want to be, feet up watching a movie. Thomas is where he wants to be, at a ski area with miles of powder but with no skis. You are happy and Thomas is sad.
Go out and make absolutely certain that gear in the garage is yours for this season, please. Then duct tape and your name in BIG letters helps. Head skis from Bobos are new and Head skis from Sky Tavern are not. Both are blue but Thomas needs his skis back. His are the new ones. Some Fishers are making the same trip too. Also ski boots have to always be buckled and kept warm if there is any chance of getting your foot in. Storing them in the back of the truck is not a way to treat them. Not good for the kids or the boots. Please, this was a reoccurring issue this week.
Bring a Friend Day was a bunch of work but went great with lots of people here having fun and showing off the place. Well when the tune room was full of smoke and about to set off the fire system, maybe that was a low point. I apologize for shouting, but I hate fire trucks pulling into the lot. All good in the end and the making up for that mistake will yield a nice benefit, right C? LOL!
Working to see if there is enough resources and interest for instructor clinics on Friday afternoons? Email desires to me please. bill.henderson@skytavern.com.
A little touch up with snow this week and off we go again this weekend.
